Commissions cut in half because of things outside of our control

So, I work at a gym in Australia in membership sales. As it is, we barely get above minimum wage and are supposed to be benefit by commissions. First, we have an individual target and if you hit that you get an extra $400 for the month. Still barely anything considering the wage and the fact that extra money is taxed on top of your fortnightly wage. Second, if the team hits a club target you get a percentage of a “kitty” which is something like $2000. So if you hit your individual target and team target it might be something between an extra $800-$1000 a month which still isn’t great. The role is customer service and membership sales but there is a survey score that has come into play now that if the club is under a certain score, it cuts commissions in half. Throughout the month of October I hit my personal target as well as our team target and my commission is getting cut in half because of broken equipment, which is something I have no control over. Surely there is something I can do about this?
