I'm so angry
I recently got hired for a entry level CNA position. training is paid, im suppose to get a sign on bonus, they made it seem like they where really desperate for people. i finish some online training, they delay my in person training for like 2 weeks because the instructor was on vacation. yesterday i finally got to start the in person training, me and 8 other people turn up. turns out my instructor didnt even know my class was suppose to be happening.
she tells us basically that the center over hired, there is not enough hours for everyone to work, her last class still isnt working yet because there are not enough hours to go around. the only reason i didnt walk out on the spot was because i wanted the 8 hours worth of a pay for the day. another kick in the teeth is that classes are only happening one day every 2 weeks, and the sign on bonus doesnt kick in till the 30 day mark.
they knew about all of this 2 weeks ago, i never got notice of this, they didnt tell me anything. i could have been job searching, this could make me homeless.
I talked to the director of the center, he is trying to get me on with the kitchen staff so i can at least start some kind of work. the issue is that if another student from the previous class also wanted to be kitchen staff then they would be given higher priority then me.
this should be illegal.
i feel disrespected, and backed into a corner. what can i do?
