Company resorted to bribing workers for perfect attendance

Has anyone’s workplace resorted to this? Basically if someone makes it to the end of the week with prefect attendance. They will get fifty dollars; 200 total at the end of the month. Instead increasing wage by 1 dollar. Which might help retain workers already leaving. Most importantly has it actually worked? I have seen no difference at all.
