I have worked for a major corporation for over 5 years. Worked my ass off for them and they got way more out of me than I got out of them. In February my boss told me I was not ready for my next promotion which only comes with a 10% raise and I should wait 6 months to apply. I was tired of this bullshit so I started applying to other jobs and within several weeks I had landed a job where I will be making more than my boss who is several levels above me now. Well I told my boss I was leaving and I was willing to train my replacement and he was actually happy for me, wasn’t bitter at all. I was going through my emails and noticed an email in my spam that shouldn’t have been. It was from corporate and it was sent several weeks before I announced I was leaving. It stated that amazon had over paid me in December and since they didn’t catch it until January I would have to pay the full amount back despite already paying taxes on it so I would be at a net loss for the month of December. Once I saw the email I messaged my boss telling him I was done and I had not intention of leaving on good terms. I also have no intention of paying this evil company a dime. If anything they owe me money for being drastically underpaid for what I was doing for 5 years. If they go after me in small claims I am taking them to court. It’s funny because they seriously wonder why they are losing talent and employee in droves.
