First post on this sub. Just a small rant, so bare with me…
I started to work for a small town hotel back in February and informed them that I had child support that needed to come out of my checks automatically. Everything was set up so that it would be taken out of my checks. About 8 weeks ago, our company switched accountants and everything turned into a shit show regarding payroll. The first time I noticed that child support was no longer being taken out of my check, I informed my boss.(I tend to be very diligent about staying up to date on my payments…don't want to end up in jail cuz of it.) My boss let me know that it would be taken care of by the end of the next pay period. Needless to say it wasn't taken care of. Now, due to the accountants negligence I'm roughly 2 months behind on child support. I bust my ass day in and day out, for a menial paycheck that barely covers my bills (just my bills, not food or gas or daily needs.) I've expressed my frustrations, but most of the time I feel like it falls upon deafened ears. I've let my support worker know the issue and was basically met with, “you'll have to pay it back yourself or risk a warrant for your arrest.” I feel like I'm being double teamed by a shitty accountant that wasn't bothered doing the due diligence of their duties and a social worker that's employed by a county that is very biased against men. I feel absolutely defeated over this shit and am ready to walk out if it happens again. The job has absolutely no incentive for me to stay other than ,”we're paying you so be grateful you have a job.”
The joys of living in a tiny community with no real job market. I either have to stay at this place while they brutally rake my ass over hot coals, or quit and pray to God there's some other place in town that'll at least match the horrible wages I'm currently making.
Sorry…I just feel like I'm getting fucked by the new accountant over something that was set up prior to the change in personnel
