So I work for a small pharmaceutical company with 4 employees including myself in the office. The rest of the employees are in Europe. The owner and his wife are my bosses, they are never in the office. Since I began this past January, they have only been in the office twice. Today, my manager told me that they will be coming on the 26th and that they want me and her to go with them to a very very very expensive restaurant for a dinner. The thing is, I know it might be a promotion because I am the only one invited out of my other coworkers. However, I make 35k a year right now, barely enough to survive especially in this economy. Basically, I am worried I will have to pay for my portion of the dinner if I go, which I do NOT have the funds for. Secondly, it would be a Thursday or Friday night of a weekday. I don't want to go to fucking dinner with these people, I want to be at home playing Elden Ring. Fuck.
