So, I have been working at this company as a contractor since the start of this year. So far, I’ve been here 6 months ramping up their company exposure through content writing/social media/marketing/ads etc (I had like 10+ responsibilities). I am an independent contractor and nowhere in my contract does it say that I have to train or teach people how to do my job. I have a masters degree in this and I don’t think it’s fair for them to ask me to teach others how exactly to do my job when they didn’t renew my contract because of “business”. “It’s just business.” In order to do my job, you have to have an education. Even though I did “exceptional work”, they’re words not mine, I feel like they thought they were well off without me and think that they can just do my specialty themselves. So, good luck to them but I shouldn’t be obligated to do anything to teach them exactly what I’m skilled at and still paying school loans on. They’ve gained so much company revenue since I’ve been here and so many clients. I doubt “it’s just business”.
Advice needed on what to do if they want training/instruction presentations or training materials.
Other people have suggested that I just explain to them where you can plug the computer in and that’s it haha.
Thank you for reading!
PS: if I’m an excellent employee with exceptional work, why can’t I stay?
