New job, recently.
Love it, coworkers are fantastic. Basic shelf stacking and little else at the moment.
So I signed up for 12 hours a week, I was told I'd be doing monday and saturday 10 to 6 which I took as brackets of time rather than …well, 16 hours which it was :-P.
First week I got at least 24 hours, this week I was put in for 30.
So like. If I'm signing on for 12 hours, why do you give me two to 2,5 times that? The last job I quit did this same exact thing, and I'm just kind of ?_?. Baffled. I assumed I'd have time for whenever, but instead I have one day off, I work one (or two days in a row) and then break and go back and .
Okay, the money is good. I like what I do, but I'm unable to cope with going from 2,5 hours on my feet job to 1,5 months of nothing to 7,5 hours out of 8 being on my feet. *very seriously* that amount, no exaggerating. Half an hour break, the rest you are standing or walking. I feel nervous now that I'm not meeting some invisible expectation because the 2X6 I was expecting turned into like 3-4 X8 and I really seriously can't handle 8 hours yet. I've had to come home earlier twice because from hour 5 (Just after half an hour break) my feet start hurting and get really nasty as I get closer to 8 hours.
It's kind of conflicting. I do like the place a lot, it's a great supermarket with great people that support and listen. We'll see what might happen soon, I was only hired as a temp over summer anyway but I don't want to just fall out because of this shit & my awkward feet 😛
And finally, yeah. Why like, bother having a contract, if you're just ignoring it?_?
