Used to be very very conservative (mostly because my parents were) but now after not living with them for 5 years I have by now developed my own thoughts and opinions. I completely get the work hate and stuff, and I read the posts here somewhat regularly. But for me it’s hard to really feel that any of the conversation really matters. Part of that maybe have to do with the fact that I live in Wisconsin and probably make more money working at a factory than everyone in this subreddit combined (joking obviously but Midwest wages are so fucking good, can’t find a job at McDonald’s for less than 15 an hour rn). Factories urgently hiring people, 5k signing bonus, insane benefits, 100k/year starting. Maybe you guys just need to gtfo of shit cities? Idk convince me why this all needs to change. Because from my perspective, as someone living in the Midwest, cost of living is extremely low (1200/month on a 4 bedroom house) and when your rent and living expenses are like 30% of your entire salary, that’s a feels good. And personally I feel at the end of the day many issues aren’t policy based but rather based on overpopulation of cities and things of that nature.
