My family finally got hit with Covid. All of us that could get the vaccine have done so and all of us wear masks still, so we haven't been hit too hard.
And yet, I've now had to take 4.5 of my allotted 5 days sick time for the year. My boss just told me they've ended the extra time off for covid, which means I'm out of sick time.
This is the first company I've worked for that tracks sick time and thankfully my boss has said that we will figure it out informally for any additional days I need, but seeing my international coworkers get so much more time off for being sick is incredibly frustrating.
The US only protects the corporations, and I'm sick of it.
