“Cultural” fit

I had an interview for a position at a new company. The interview went well, the company wants to grow. It seemed like a good fit. It went well. 1 day later I received an offer as follows. “Brans041 I am pleased to extend this offer of employment for POSITION at EMPLOYER. Attached in this email is the offer letter.” Their offer was low, so I asked for more, and asked to meet with my boss who they had hired but has not started. No other interaction. A couple of days later I received this email. “brans041 Thank you for your time and consideration. We decided to rescind the job offer for the POSITION at EMPLOYER due to cultural fit.” They were never looking for a good employee, they were looking for cheap labor. I definitely dodged a bullet there. Know your worth! Don't settle.
