My boss blew up at me, and I told him that I’m quitting, effective the end of the week, so I could finish a project I’m doing for them. He threw another tantrum, told me to go away, and cancelled the next two days of work. All of this was verbal, but I have written confirmation that work was cancelled those days, unplanned and suddenly, the day before.
Does that count as being fired? I only lost out on two days of work more than I was going to, but unemployment right now could be very helpful while I find a new work place.
