Did I have a legal case? Do I still have a legal case?

State: Colorado Public company, national retail chain. Employed 5 years Story shortened cause it's long. Keep in mind my GM (store manager) is kept up to date, with no delay, through every step of this. This store has been short handed the entire year I worked at it. And is in constant chaos (lack of employees) March: I inform GM my lease ends 7-1-22 and I that I plan on moving/transferring. April 4th: I secure a new apt and sign a lease to move in 7-1-22 (new city). I speak with a store manager at New city. He says he will gladly take me and to contact him again when the date gets closer. May: I confirm with current GM my last working day with him will be 6-24-22 (so I have a few days to move). He says he is okay with this. May-June: I reconfirm this date with…

State: Colorado
Public company, national retail chain.
Employed 5 years

Story shortened cause it's long.

Keep in mind my GM (store manager) is kept up to date, with no delay, through every step of this. This store has been short handed the entire year I worked at it. And is in constant chaos (lack of employees)

March: I inform GM my lease ends 7-1-22 and I that I plan on moving/transferring.

May-June: I reconfirm this date with the GM at least 5 more times, enitre crew is aware I'm transfering/moving.

June 6th: I am asked, yet again by GM, to stay late to do another person's job. But this time it's because the GM let this person leave early. I explain I had plans and couldn't. This means GM has to stay and he is supper pissed at me about it.

June 8th: I arrive at work and immediately called into office before clocking in.
GM tells me, “it's not working out, so I am accepting your letter of resignation”
Me confused af: what are you talking about, you know I am transferring/moving.
GM: “it doesn't seem like you care about your job anymore and I don't see a transfer in the system, so I am accepting your letter of resignation”

This goes back and forth a few times but the GM is just repeating himself at this point. He lastly offers to let me work till close that day but I wouldn't be on the schedule after that. I say no thanks and that I would contact HR about the situation.

Takes HR 2 days to respond to my messages, but they immediately began investigating the situation. 1 hour later the DM calls me to ask me what happened. As the GM told the Dm that I quit and terminated me in the system. I explain my side, he says he is also involved with HR and will call me back within 24 hours with a solution.

30 mins later the DM calls me (it gets a little strange here) and claims “this was all a big misunderstanding, GM was confused and thought you were quitting on 6-24 so he was just gonna let you go to save hours, and that I was rehired and could return to work tomorrow at same location”.
Me, confused af again reexplains how GM has known and has been kept up to date on everything since March, the situation that happened on the 6th and how I felt it was retaliation for not doing his job. He trys to convince me that is was a simple mistake and nothing to worry about.
I explain there is no way it was a mistake and now GM has created a hostile environment for me to work in. Not to mention I'm sure GM will just find another reason to terminate me in these last 3 weeks.

My only other option is to take unpaid time off (already used my Vacay time this year) till after I move and ready to go back to work. So I chose that.

Im pretty sure this was a illegal termination and it's not fair I'm left with going back to work for a person that's just gonna fire me or taking a month of no pay. Which I can afford (thank God) but it's gonna hurt the saving account.
