I work in the tourism industry, current salary equivalent to about 10.5 USD per hour. Received an offer from another place, low but it has other advantages.
Told my current workplace I had an attractive opportunity, they immediately counter offer a promotion, more hours and a raise to around 11.5 USD.
I tried to negotiate 13 and better benefits, they declined.
I kinda feel like I shot myself in the foot here, because it is unlikely another entry level position would pay better then 10.5.
Cost of living is high here and I'm very frustrated that I can hardly support myself as an adult, and when I try to stand up for myself and my worth I'm getting the boot.
