I work at a retail store part time. So naturally every few months we have to do inventory. It's a big pain as one can assume and it takes all hands on deck to complete. It's so serious that some people have to stay till 12 am. Well tomorrow we have to do inventory and they scheduled me for and 8 hour shift in the worst possible way. It's 12:30-4 then 8-12. I don't know why they split it. It's literally the dumbest thing ever. Not to mention I live 30 minutes away and gas is around $4.30 where I am from. But on top of that it's my girlfriend's birthday tomorrow. I really love her and want to spend time with her that day. She did so much for me my birthday that I want to do the same for her. We are both busy next week so the next time we could hang out is next Saturday. She told me I should just call out sick. Now believe I am livid and I would like to. But I feel that would be a really big dick move calling out of an 8 hour shift and inventory. I already know I want to quick this job. The only reason whi I haven't yet is because I haven't found a replacement. So what should I do? Should I play hooky or just face the music and work the entire day tomorrow?
