Do I tell my employer what she’s doing is illegal?

I have been asked by my place of work to complete a training, without pay. Their reasoning is that they don't need to compensate me since it's “required by the state.” This is untrue, as I work at a preschool and the DOL website could not be any clearer: “The time spent attending training that is required by law for employees of a business is work time for which employees must be compensated. I'm applying to other jobs tonight, and will be quitting ASAP (also not doing the training). I intend on reporting the school to the Department of Labor, but I guess I have one question- Should I respond to my boss's email saying what they're doing is illegal? I don't need her as a reference, and I don't care to get back into this industry anytime soon. I'm considering not saying anything and just quietly leaving, but if she asks me in person whether I'm attending the training or not, then I won't have a record of her response when I say I'm not doing it.

Thanks for any advice/tips!
