Do managers have no morals or ethical codes at all?

I recently started working at a medium sized sort of old fashioned business that I can see has a lot of potential. I’ve been working on a BIG brand overhaul project that I worked really hard on and was really proud of the creative and modernising ideas I’d come up with (my bad I guess). My boss then reviewed everything I’d done then shared with our big bosses and CEO as if she’d done it all herself!

Then in related follow up projects did the same again – even in a group chat saying “I’m working on it right now ughhh so busy” about something she asked ME to work on that I was finalising!!!!

Also a few of my ideas for improvement were shot down because they were things that would go against her previous (shitty) ideas. So to not make herself look in the wrong in retrospect (not because they were bad ideas or wouldn’t work), she made me delete them.

I realise managers by default take a portion of credit for every project because they’re supposed to oversee it but to actively take credit for my work to the big bosses seems really shady to me? My pay rise or promotions could hang on the balance of this and times are tough – I need/should be entitled to every extra penny I’ve worked hard for!

Any tips for how to handle this without pissing off the person will have some say in pay reviews/promotions while also making sure credit is fairly attributed to me? Or similar horror stories to make me feel better?!
