I just read about someone being diagnosed with cancer in the US and they have no access to fmla, unemployment or anything. This person is trying to figure out how to return to work within 4 weeks of surgery and find a side hustle.
It got me wondering, do other countries pay your bills or give you guaranteed unemployment?
Gosh I’m so sick for this person right now. People in comments are recommending to ask other employees to give their leave but wtf happens when those peope get sick or they desperately need their leave for their own mental health?
