Does anyone else refuse to work a non tipped food service job? You literally can’t trust them to pay you so you’re forced belittle yourself to a stranger in hopes that that they MIGHT.

Seriously, I don't see why all the kitchen doesn't just walk out. I'd specify, but really I could say this about 90% of kitchen staff I've met. It's hot, stressful, underappreciated, and just not worth it.
