As the title says, does calling a business and trying to talk to the manager about getting hired actually help? I'm 18 and trying to find my first “real” job and my mom is constantly telling me to call or email HR and ask them directly, but in this current work force I feel like it just doesn't work like that anymore. So having someone say I'm not crazy or that I should be calling would be nice.
