It hasn't been reported in the news, but my husband's friend worked or is working at the Texas Secretary of State and it has gotten pretty bad over there. They are losing workers left and right and it's taking up to 60 days to process business documents from what I've overheard.
I also read one of the reviews on glass door and wow if what they were saying is true then I can believe it.
His friend also mentioned that one of his co-workers or friends or something like that that ran one of the smaller units over at the Secretary of State (um, I'm not sure which one) that went from what I think was 4 or 5 people to 2 people in 2020 to just 1 person in 2022 and they do a lot of I think licensing of some of the businesses here in Texas. If I recall it had to do with something like credit counseling or loans or something. That's the only one I can remember, but I do recall him saying they did other work and he felt sorry for his friend.
But my husband's friend's friend or co-worker left sometime this spring leaving just that one person. His friend's friend mentioned that they weren't getting paid enough for the work they were doing and people are getting burned out. Its bad though, like really, really bad. And they are the ones I think that work on business creations like corp or lcc or something like that.
I do remember laughing when my husband gave me his phone to read what his friend sent about how stupid some people are and how they had someone just create business after business and lost track. Or how his friend's co-worker had to learn how to interpret something I think called an act or stature? or something like that without having a law degree and how people don't knows their rights or how much in trouble they can get if the state was running right.
But yeah. That's my husband's friend's story.
