Why is it that sometimes I'll see a job that is fully remote, requires zero driving as part of the position and yet they will prefer or sometimes even require a driver's license.
If you grew up poor, in a large city with a lot of public transportation or both, chances are you might have missed out on learning to drive and getting a license. If you graduate from high school during a recession, leave home at 18 and can barely survive, you have nothing to put towards lessons, let alone a car.
I get tired of explaining this when people ask why I don't have a license or drive. I just don't. I didn't need to where I grew up and I'm tired of it being “required” for no logical reasons other than screening the haves and the have nots.
