Yesterday's Evening Show with Arjen Lubach was about the Dutch delivery company PostNL, more specifically, the bad working conditions of their employees who often end up peeing in bottles due to lack of time / underpayment.

Company representative is shameful enough to complain about fixed contracts because they incorporate “nonsensical social levies” allowing people to have sick leave, pension, and other such “bullshit” social insurances.

So they opt for hiring cheaper freelancers (sub-contractors) whose wage is calculated solely on the basis of delivered package count. If no-one is at home you simply don't get payed. Pech gehad, as we say it in the Netherlands.

The company is making huge profits which they spend on buying stock while their employees (salaried employees and freelancers alike) are having a hard time trying to get by.

Now PostNL's showing off by organizing a special day on which ordinary people are supposed to express kindness to employees with gifts. Ring any bells?

The broadcast is in Dutch but the auto-generated subs in the video are not too bad.
