I guess that in my years of working, I have forgotten how much I value two days of the week that is free of work emails/texts/slack.
I recently chose between two offers for a part time gig, and it's clear to me that my employer (small company) doesn't communicate on weekends.
I am just so elated.
Especially since I work another job and was recently threatened to be fired after asserting my own boundaries around phone calls and communication.
Okay, just here to say that weekends are sacred. Go play outside, find places without service, shut your phone off, whatever you gotta do to pretend that shit doesn't exist. We all deserve it and I'm so grateful I went with an employer that clearly values this.
