Eliminate Federal Minimum Wage

Considering how few employees are willing to work for the current Federal Minimum Wage ($7.25), and in light of the fact that it is inadequate even as a “minimum,” perhaps it should be eliminated. Employers could not tell themselves they are paying a fair wage because it meets Federal requirements; businesses who currently include tips to meet their obligation to pay their employees the Federal minimum would lose that loophole for paying less; and many businesses would have to be more transparent about the wages they are offering, since there would be no “minimum” starting point. Thoughts, anyone?
