I recently started working at a coffee franchise in down town baton rouge and I am one of three new employees. I have only been there for a little over a month and the others for 2 or 3. We noticed our checks were smaller than they should be and so we asked the employer for our paystubs and she sent my first one but not my most recent. We all spent hours going through the work computer systems and printing the receipts with tip amounts and she owes thousands of dollars. She owes me almost 800 from the little time I have been there. I called corporate and apparently she fixed it with payroll but hasn't said anything about paying the money that is owed calculated from January 1st onwards. One employee has been there for a year and is probably owed around 10,000 dollars. I'm calling and leaving messages with the wage department trying to file a claim but its been days and no one is calling me back. Needless to say we all are not going back and I guess this is mostly a vent post.
