Kind of a rant:
My employer, without notifying me, has raised health insurance premiums. They have mentioned the following reasons for the increase in premiums:
– Medical inflation
– Higher than expected claims ratio for last year
What pisses me off is, why won't the company pay the additional premiums from its own account? We already live in an inflationary environment, and the employer is making these nonsense deductions. And the worst part is, they didn't even bother to get our consent. And it's not like we have a choice in this; it is mandatory for all.
We signed up because you promised a fixed payment every month, and now you're suddenly reducing the pay? It's wrong!
Moreover, we have an employment contract, by which if we leave within 2 years of joining, we'll have to pay a big amount of money to the company.
I don't know how to handle this situation. I have decided to talk to my manager about this, but I wanna know what other Redditors on this sub think about this. Would love to have your input on this.
