I went job hunting and saw an ad saying “we will beat your pay' and so I went in and went through the interviewing process, I brought the ad up and assumed they'd give me more than my pay since it said “beat your pay” but ig essentially it was matching so they agreed to match my 12 dollar pay and I prior told them part time due to health issues of a family member but was absolved from needing to care for them so I told them next day I would like full time and they said I can get it, and so I started working, my training week went fine but sometime in the middle of my next week I noticed my pay was 11.75, and that my hours were 20 a week or less (noticed the hours part on my 3rd week) so I talked to my manager and they said “your pay should've been on the paper” (at the point I don't fuckin remember the paper but I do know my interviewers and orientation lady said 12) and when I brought up my hours she said “well u said parttime” (which I admit I did at first but they said it would be fine for me to go full time) and so all the others stuff were dick moves but minor things (25 cent pay cut, not being full time, I could've prolly worked my way into full time)
The real kicker is that when I asked for atleast more than 18-20hrs a week she said “I gotta work harder for more hours” which she wouldn't even know my work when she only was here during my training hours, after that she was on vacation (I talked to her the day she got back so the beginning of the third week of work) and how am I supposed to prove myself when I'm scheduled 3 days a week 4 to 6 hours a day.
So I mean obviously after I had that conversation I havent been back since and already found another job full time with benefits (I did take a technically 1.75 pay cut for it [base pay 10 but I get 1 dollar every hour I work paid out every 3 months so if I keep good attendance it's 11 an hour so only a 75 cent pay cut, but I get full hours and benefits)
But like wtf? I was told 12 but they went behind my back and gave me less? And sure i said part time at first but they said getting me full time wouldn't be an issue but its one thing not to give it but then only give me 18-20hrs a week? Haven't started my new job but I hope it goes much better than this and so far it looks good (plus it's guaranteed 40hrs a week).
