Employers Should Pay for Employees Travel

Given that working from home is so efficient and has become the norm, employers should pay for employees travel (if they haven’t included it in their salary already). Whether they go into work or not has no effect on the overall success of the business, their productivity or the profits of the business. This means the only person losing out by going in is the employee, so rightfully, they should be compensated for this. There is no need for most workers to go in nowadays if their type of work allows them to work from home. If this is the case then why should workers be responsible for the costs of coming into work if it is unnecessary for them to go? People could save 100’s of dollars by not travelling, yet this great push to go back into the office does not acknowledge this. And if people do need…

And if people do need to go into work because their job requires it, then their travel should be paid for too if this has not already been calculated into their salary/wage.
