I've been reading parable of the sower, and a passage stood out to me that I wanted to share here, where the narrator reflects that she's never read a story where the hero fights like hell to be underpaid by the bad guys, but that's how it is in real life. I mean, not all of us work for Lockheed Martin or are cops, but I never really thought before about how much stress, time, and energy I put into getting hired and staying employed with as good an employer as possible, who will “take care of me”, and still know at the end of every day that what I spent the day doing was not good for the world, or for any of the people I want to be in solidarity with. Including my coworkers! We're all stuck in this abusive relationship together, and end up spending more time fighting each other over little bullshit, struggling for power among each other because we're under the thumb of some power tripping dopes, instead of working together and getting somewhere different.
Just felt like it might be a worthwhile train of thought to share
