A lil backstory, I used to have an okay job at Carl's jr since 2007. Granted it was minimum wage but it slowly helped me get through college. I managed to build savings on the side although i've had financial setbacks (parents needing help, dental bills, abruptly moving, etc) I had to put my dreams on hold because of it.
Covid happens, I lose my job (though it was best that I did since my mom was diabetic and vulnerable). It allowed me time to focus on my art and gaming channels due to quarantine. I used the savings and stimulus I had to get by. I was denied unemployment. I did my best to contribute by cooking for my parents and doing chores. Unfortunately my mom passed away December 2020. Her life insurance helped us get by a lil longer.
Fast forward to a few months ago, rent was abruptly increasing so dad persuaded to start looking for a job. My brother has been seeking therapy that will hopefully guide him to one. While i've been applying literally everywhere within my vicinity since my transportation options are limited. Haven't had any luck except for 1 interview. My dad is at his wits end, i'm afraid to ask him for anything since I know he's already been busting himself to get us by. I've been researching on how to get financial help online but I can't tell if its legit or a scam. I've resorted to sweepstakes, applying to game shows, and such but I feel that's just giving me false hope.
