I work part-time as a hostess 4 days a week. Occasionally I am required to prepare desserts and smoothies, but that is the extent of my kitchen duties. My employer recently brought to my attention that I need a food handler's permit. Apparently by law I should have gotten one within two weeks of my hire date (I've been working there for a couple months) but he is expecting an audit and is scrambling to make sure everyone that doesn't have one gets one.
Apparently I'm supposed to spend an hour or more of my free time doing an online class & test to get this permit and pay out of pocket for it? Seriously? Maybe I'm petty but I work two jobs and I'm 24 weeks pregnant, this is not how I want to spend my time 🤦️
