This I don’t understand. I called the local Chinese restaurant to order dinner, I ask for delivery. The guy on the phone says they don’t deliver anymore, OK no problem Ill pick it up. I get to the spot and notice there are only 2 people working there (the father that owns the business and his son) and a very prominent NOW HIRING sign displayed. I know this is a family business, I eat there often and I know the people that work there and they told me they are all family. Since they were understaffed there was a line out the door. I added up the totals of the people in front of me, I was in line for 10 minutes and they took in over $500 in that 10 minutes.
They literally are family and they don’t pay enough to their actual family to retain their employees.
This is what they mean when the manager says were a family here.
Edit: Id like to add that this business used to have 3 cooks, 2 people working the registers and 2 delivery drivers.
