I have finally left a job that I did not like because I was theoretically being used to the extreme because I was new. I have my job title as a crane operator but at this chemical plant I did much more than just operate the crane, I literally did all the crafts at this site. I was not only the crane operator but the heavy equipment operator, scaffold Builder, insulator, pipefitter, boilermaker, painter, laborer, and I did the paperwork of the supervisor.
When I told the client that I was leaving they asked me how much money would it be for me to stay and I already knew they would not give it to me because they pay low to begin with. When I told him the amount they said that they would not be able to match that, so fast forward 3 weeks, they all said they will miss me which I know they will because I did a lot. All i can say is good luck on finding somebody who would do all the same things I did.
Now I'm taking a week off for the first time since January 2021 because we were working seven twelves the majority of the time 14 and 1. This means I was working 12 hour days, 7 days a week, and 14 days straight 1 day off. I didn't get to use my vacation but regardless still got paid for it which is a plus but the body needs rest. I am now happy to say I don't have that job anymore and I have the job experience I need to move on with my life.
