Finally quit my low wage job after 4 years

This is gonna be kinda long so bare with me. I’m so happy I had to share the news somewhere. Where do I start? Basically, when I turned 16 I got a job at a local grocery store. My pay started off at 8.65 and I was actually happy with that. My manager was awesome, really hands on, always willing to accommodate, always giving the Horus we wanted, etc. Then, a year after, we got a new manager. She sucked to put it nicely. She tried to be accommodating, but always missed the mark. She would make excuses when I asked for a raise to the point I finally had to get in her face about it for her to do it. For the last three years this is how I got my raises. This year is what really hit the nail on the head for me though. She hired people younger than me with no experience making more than me. A new girl she hired late last year got promoted to shift leader and thought she was god. She snapped on me all the time, so last month I finally just clocked out and walked out, told the managers I wasn’t dealing with it. She followed me out to the parking lot and cussed me out. I complained to 3 managers about her and they did nothing. She made other coworkers cry and they did nothing. She told customers that if I wasn’t fired she would quit and management still did nothing. Last month it got so bad they moved me to a different department which I liked, but was still looking for other jobs. I finally got hired for a better paying job with more benefits. Friday I put on my two weeks and everything was fine. Saturday my department manager found it and snapped on me for no reason, just finding things to get on me about. So I clocked out and told my manager I quit. Being a good worker gets you no rewards in a terrible company. I kick myself for dealing with that for so long. I’m so happy to finally get a better job.
