Essentially, I've been in an entry level accounting role for 6 years. I've excelled at every task thrown at me and constantly asked for more responsibility to no avail. I've earned not only a higher salary but a higher position, but they are just trying to stifle any possible growth. Hiding certain tasks from me, which I assume has to do with not wanting to raise my salary. I'm quite underpaid and cost of living in South Florida has grown astronomically.
What finally pushed me out the door was them hiring someone else to supervise me… Someone with no experience in our industry. So I started looking for a job. Now I'm going to be an accounting manager with a 20% pay increase. My boss has been nothing but an asshole to me for so long, when I expressed my dissatisfaction with their hiring decision, they've been basically licking my ass since. Asking me if something is wrong, if I have anything to talk about, etc. Only took me two weeks to find this job. They can fuck right off. Can't wait to watch them beg.. they haven't been able to retain anyone in accounting except me haha.
