I was fired in March for missing too much work due to sick children (single mother of two children in daycare).
I had attempted to contact my father to watch my kids when I was called that I needed to pick them up (not long after arriving at work). When I got the call and told my boss I had to pick up my kids, he just nodded and said okay.
I texted him about an hour after I left informing him I got in touch with my father who could watch them so I could return to work. He told me to just take the day off. The next work day he fired me for missing too much work. (During finals week as I was in my second to last quarter of grad school)
I finished school and have been applying for all types of work, even entry level, and have yet to find employment. I don't know why, as I have lots of experience and now my Masters, and am wondering if I should remove my last job from my resume?
I only have about 2 months of unemployment left and am stressing out quite a bit. If anyone has any experience in HR or recruiting, or has been in a similar situation and can offer some insight, I would greatly appreciate it.
(I worked at my last job almost exactly one year)
