Just got fired today. I had Covid for a month and half, it took me down real hard. I am fully vaccinated. The first half I got FMLA approved. The second half, was denied few days after filing. I am Deaf so I had to put Email/Text only and do not call. For the last three-ish weeks, daily calls from the FMLA. I tried to contact back through my video relay and it was a robocall, bouncing me around, and unable to get a live person. It was daily thing to get calls and I email, pleading them to respond through my emails. Then finally last week, I emailed them showing my frustration and anger. They increased the calls for the next few days and that ticked me off. So I sent a email telling them to “Fxck off! Just stop and I'm done playing this stupid games.” Today, got called in and was terminated for misconduct against the third party FMLA company that the company I used to work for. They had the entire copy of the emails and it showed zero responses from the FMLA company and yet I was fired.
Horizon Air/Alaska Airlines – I was the Horizon Ground Support Equipment Technician. Also am the first and only Deaf to work at Horizon GSE. Guess I am free and hopefully unemployment will keep me by since getting hired somewhere else with “Fired” on my job history will be tough. First time ever I was fired :/
