First and last day at factory horror story

First of all, this was last month. I applied to this job in January, got called into an interview in February, got called for a drug test in March, and finally got the job a week before April. After waiting for such a long time and denying other job opportunities as I was convinced this would be a good experience, I decided I’d stick it out whatever the case. Well first off I got super bad vibes during orientation because all the bosses did was talk shor about how unsanitary their employees were, how they had to fire a guy for taking a picture on the manufacturing floor, gave us a second grade level explanation of germs, etc etc. so fast forward the next day I show up to the job, I’m taken to the manufacturing floor (this place made ice cream) and was immediately greeted by about five meth…

After waiting for such a long time and denying other job opportunities as I was convinced this would be a good experience, I decided I’d stick it out whatever the case. Well first off I got super bad vibes during orientation because all the bosses did was talk shor about how unsanitary their employees were, how they had to fire a guy for taking a picture on the manufacturing floor, gave us a second grade level explanation of germs, etc etc. so fast forward the next day I show up to the job, I’m taken to the manufacturing floor (this place made ice cream) and was immediately greeted by about five meth heads. Wondering how they got the job since I quit smoking weed for three months to pass a pisser and these motherfuckers were in here chewing the air, I reluctantly busted my ass most of the night. Now, we were making peanut butter ice cream, which was an allergen, so at the end of the night the machines had to be drained and cleaned. Well, I have zero people showing me how to disassemble a huge ice cream machine, and lo and behold as I’m scrubbing out a mixing tank, a spinning mechanism turns on and almost traps my arm, breaking it. I get super pissed obviously, and a toothless supervisor laughs. I’m confused by this point as it seems no one was doing lock out tag out, and a few moments later they have me start spraying down the machines…again lo and behold, this one lady almost kills us when she starts spraying electronic pushers and screens on the machines, and giggles about it of course. So fast forward another 20 minutes (it is now 2 in the morning and I have been working since 5pm, that’s another great detail to add, there is zero disclosed schedule and you can basically work into the next afternoon as some people have said, which I’m sure is fine considering a meth addiction, not this guy.), and as I’m being shown how to scrub down another machine, the two ladies who’re training me decide to get pissy with each other and walk out, leaving me with no clue what on earth to do, and I’m standing there watching two other dudes chewing the air getting pissed off and gesturing at me for not doing anything, so I go up to the supervisor, the worthless worker she is, and tell her that this was the most pathetic job experience I’d ever had, I couldn’t believe I’d waited so long just for this shitty experience, and that I wouldn’t be coming back and left.

Guess who now has no one calling back about jobs and is stuck at his parents feeling like a total bum at 22 years old 🙂
