So I opened Reddit just to storm this one out. For the first time in my short working life I was let go out of my Hostess job. When I started this job it was going great, yet this place kept hiring more and more people and my hours were being cut down. Hence, my pay check was lower. They kept with this action and not only that, it was not a stable job at all since shifts were regularly shorten when the place was not busy enough to keep workers there or I was even called before during normal shifts because I was not needed. I ended up having to look for a second job. Not as great but much more stable and reliable. I decided to keep my hostess job for the extra cash to gain in summer. Turns out, for the first time I was not able to attend to 2 of my ON CALL host shifts and was not able to have it covered by literally ANYONE. I called ahead, spoke to a MANAGER and informed the situation, plus following with an email as a reminder. One of the days I had my shift I was called in because I was already late for my shift, I explained I informed a manager I was not going to be able to attend and that was it. Well, today, they fired me because there was lack of communication, lack of priority to them and just not a good fit anymore. I was going to quit after this shift because the schedule was getting hard to manage. But they did it first and felt like it was completely on me, my fault and I'm feeling pretty bummed.
