I posted a few months ago about my job ghosting me and firing me when I asked for FMLA that I became eligible for not long after having a grand mal seizure at work.
Thank you to everyone that encouraged me to fight. The Department of Labor in my state is investigating my former company and I signed a contract with an amazing lawyer who’s been in court over 50 times and who specializes mainly in employment/disability cases and owns her own firm. Her reviews from previous clients are amazing and talking to her put me at ease. She’s filing with the EEOC for me since I’ve had trouble doing it myself and pursuing them on my behalf. She said major corporations usually like to settle in cases like this, but with the abuse they put me through by forcing me to use the one laser gun I said made me sick and then, begrudgingly giving me a little time off to go home and puke my brains out. She said since I only had the one seizure while working there as well, is in my favor. I was seizure free for 2 years until that job and now I’m unemployed and can’t drive again.
On the bright side kinda, my unemployment finally started paying out, so I can take the time to care for my mother while she goes through chemo.
