Antiwork

For me, it’s not about about the work, it’s the fact that I HAVE to do it.

Lately I just feel more and more exhausted and frustrated by the idea of working— not because I hate my job (I actually enjoy what I do and derive a sense of satisfaction and purpose from it), but because it feels like I don’t have a choice. I don’t come from money, I have to pay rent and utilities and buy groceries, and I need money to survive, but the thought of having to spend 40+ hours a week on the job, every week, year after year for the next 40+ years of my life feels suffocating. It just doesn’t feel fair or right that people should have to submit so much of their time and freedom just to have the basic means of a semi comfortable life. How do you cope with it?
