When an employee is unfair, cheating, stealing or being dishonest with others, the employer fires them rather quickly, without a second thought, without a warning. Today, I fired them instead for the same reasons.
I got a concrete offer from another firm to start out and today resigned with no notice from my current position.
They're getting beaten down with a whistleblower suit, unveiling of acts of wage and labor violations, discrimination, harassment… and just the barraging of my imperfection was too much to keep petering on for.
I silently gathered my bearings, updated my resume, set out to make sure I would be covered for the day to come where I could leave. Bang, happened today, happened to be my birthday.
I just left all my stuff, wrote an email resignation saying the basics, signed it and sent it off to everyone in the office, cc'ing myself.
I'm starting with better pay, benefits, set hours and a lax environment where I get to be myself and actually exercise my specialties. Far out difference from before.
Now, to take some time, come to center and do better than before.
I'm not quitting, I'm letting bullshit go.
