Hey guys.
So I recently just got promoted at work and my salary on my new contract was stated as 33k (I was under the impression the role pays this much). I signed and returned the contract in question to our HR department. It wasn't until actually starting my new role that I discovered that my new colleagues are all on a 33.5k base salary. Furthermore, I got a 2.5% raise last year in my now previous role at the same company and this raise has not been reflected on my new annual figure.
The problem here is I duly emailed our HR team to ask them if there's been a mistake (I made no mention of knowing my colleagues salaries & simply stated that I was under the impression it was 33.5k base) Their response; 'No. The role is 33k and not 33.5k. Your 2.5% raise is also reflected in the figure of 33k'
WTF? What are my options here? Am I entitled to carrying over my raise? How should I tackle the base salary issue?
Further FYI; everyone else hired prior to myself who had no experience in the industry or role was offered 33.5k as a base figure from what my colleagues told me, so this figure does not reflect on my experience whatsoever.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
