My friend just called me to tell
Me he got fired from a job for drinking non-alcoholic beer on his way home. Turns out his assistant texted the boss saying he was drinking and driving and feared for his life. This is in Canada and he’s still on the 3 month probation, so they fired him. They won’t listen to him or accept his evidence that it wasn’t alcohol. They told him “they don’t want this type of controversy”. Does anyone know if he has anything he can go to the labour board with this or is he pooched because he’s in the probationary period?
Edit: I’m not here to debate whether or not what he did was stupid or not, clearly that’s the case. Just curious if he has any ground to stand on,
Thanks for the info guys, sounds like he’s sh*t out of luck
