I work 2 jobs. My primary as a steel mill laborer, and secondary as an in home health care taker.
I'm awake 18 hrs a day, and work 14. I work so much that I take naps on the locker room bench during lunch break.
The steel mill job is great because it pays $22.××/hr, and the in home health care job is great because the clients are nice and it's not back breaking work, but only pays $11/hr.
However, working 2 jobs to get ahead, I'm still not getting ahead, what with bills and utilities, rent, student loans, medical bills, etc.
I'm killing myself working one of the best jobs in the area, and a side gig, just to stay afloat, only for me to barely stay afloat and wake up dreading going to work just to have nothing to show for it.
Idk how anyone is supposed to kill themselves at work for 40, 50 years, suffering from lack of sleep, muscle pains, micro injuries, etc., just to be 'allowed' to retire when you're 65/70 and only get to live 10 or so years doing nothing, and still struggle in retirement.
I can't imagine doing this for another 30 years or so. I'll hang it up first. This is insanity.
