My company helps hospitals get paid by auto insurance companies. My team of four brought in over $2 million for the first quarter. We make $40k/year. If you speak Spanish, you get a whopping $42k/year (oh boy!). I speak Spanish, but not for that pitiful amount of money.
Instead of a raise, they bought a million dollar building even though we're work from home 3 days a week. They hired a chaplain even though we're not a religious company. They wonder why they can't keep people? We live in a VERY expensive city where housing costs have literally exploded. Not quite LA or San Fran, but getting there. I'm leaving an hour early today and not telling them. Also desperately trying to find another hybrid remote job. I don't want to be rolling in gold, I just don't want to struggle this much. I don't know what we're gonna do when student loans start up again.
