Forewarning: this is a rant.
I love how all these corporations and companies are complaining about labor shortages, people quitting, etc. yet treat us all like shit!
Backstory: two weeks ago my three coworkers and boss quit leaving just me. Now I’m fairly good at my job and pick things up rather quickly and on the fly. So rather than panic I just continued with my day to day activities, no guidance from upper management, directors, nothing. I start receiving phone calls asking me about things way above my pay grade and task that need to be completed etc. So I buckle down figure it out and everything’s all good.
Two days ago my regional manner shows up, applauds me with gratitude so on and so forth. I’m thinking “great, maybe I’ll get a pay bump and promotion for my efforts.”
WRONG: this prick knew a month ago they were all quitting and let this shit fall in my lap. To add insult to injury they introduced me to some other dickhead that will be my direct boss come Monday. Guy is no way affiliated with the company or worked in this industry and I’m supposed to “get him up to speed” on how things work here.
Like WTF! You have someone that’s proved they’re capable and willing and you fuck them over.
Long story short: I’m going back to school and at least working for passions over a paycheck. Fuck Corporate America!
