Back In February a warehouse place started me on $27:50 AUD per hour, and told me once I made permanent that my rate would ‘go up’.
Three months later, I make permanent, – they drop my wage 20% to $24.00. I didn’t straight up and quit as I wanted to get 6 months at the job on my resume.
Then the business needs to do a bit of succession planning due to a supervisor and a front desk guy retiring – the two guys at the place longer than me would be promoted off the floor, resulting in me being the main warehouse guy – with the most responsibly, relied upon the most, etc – for $24.00 of course. Building supplies – bags of cement, heavy stuff. Dirty place.
Anyways, I start my exit – still working there, but looking for other work. I’m bombarded with folk trying to hire me. So much so that work was getting in the way of things.
So I take a weeks leave, and resign in the first hour of the leave thus providing my weeks notice.
Just got a new job at $30 AUD full time, that’s a 25% pay increase. I’m enjoying my month off between the jobs as well
