I will try my best to cut this long story short as possible
I work in a call center, am L1 agent. Yet. Am severely underpaid and overworked in a team of 2 (yes, you read it right) agents for 200-300 users. Why? Because 5 other agents have left the team for being underpaid and overworked. There's just so much being taken for a bitch and worked like a slave WHILE being underpaid severely that a normal human can take, you are bound to wound up protesting in your own way, which is usually leaving this shitshow.
I am so overworked that I can no longer study for my Bsc degrees, and since USUALLY having a good degree in a good field means you are LESS likely to be used like a bitch (no offense), of course I have prioritized my degree, I told them we were gonna have to change my contract to 4 hours / day 5 days a week 20 hours a week in total. They said okay but they were only gonna pay me 700 USD for that… lol get fucked
They need me since it's already a shitshow out there, imagine 2 agents having to serve 200 clients… lmao. Yes, it has worked out exactly like you think…
So I gave my boss an ultimatum: increase my wage to 900 USD net or Im leaving effective immediately. I wrote this today, gave the ultimatum today, he said he was gonna see what he can do… Well Idk about that, but I have given him 24 hours to decide. I already have the resignation template filled out by me (by hand), signed etc etc, 2 copies: one of them they are going to receive, the other one I am going to keep. Im gonna have the office admin sign a paper attesting she has received all my work equipment (laptop etc) and that's when I will be leaving.
If he doesn't agree to the deal 24 hours from now, I will just pick up the equipments, and immediately leave for the office, handing all of it over, giving her a copy of the resignation template and ADIOS.
What was the final straw? I already requested this change of contract and wage to the aforementioned amount(s) 2 months ago and ofc the HR Rep and this manager of mine said “we are very sorry but we can't give you what you have requested”. I knew it was corp speak for “we don't wanna give you a fair wage” etc. And THEN one day I worked my shift in the office and saw this manager arrive at the office in a brand new Range Rover! That thing costs like 100,000 USD at least. This guy seriously expects me to believe he owns that car and he can't give me the wage I need? Fuck him. Insolent fuck.
Funny thing is, me leaving will create an even bigger Domino-effect shitshow. Think of it this way: Every ticket is assigned an SLA – service level agreement. Basically means that we have to solve the client's problem within a given period of time, or else we will have to pay back the client company what they have given us in terms of money to solve the problem in the first place. Me leaving will easily cause them thousands of EUR in losses and damages. Get fucked capitalist fucks. Why am I supposed to give a fuck about your SLAs being worth 1000s of EUR if I will NEVER see a fair share of that money? I don't give a FUCK.
I don't care if they fire me, me leaving effective immediately will be the ultimate power move on my part. I don't have kids, I don't have any debt, I am young and independent and have money saved up, I can just quit and tell them to go get fucked
